Coronavirus Announcement

Coronavirus impact on our practice

Consultations

We are business as usual in terms of our surgical practice however we are moving to a predominant Telehealth based consultation model.

For the coming weeks, most consultations will be conducted remotely using Skype or Facetime technology consistent with current recommended personal safety requirements.

In certain circumstances, such as patients requiring Lap Band adjustments, face-to-face consultations can be arranged was long as standard low exposure risk requirements are met:

  1. No overseas travel or contact with people who have been overseas within the last 14 days
  2. No symptoms of fever, coughing, sore throat, fatigue, and shortness of breath.
  3. No contact with known COVID-19 positive individual in the last 14 days.

Our telehealth consultations are currently bulk billed.

Note regarding Elective Surgeries

There are signs of elective surgery re-opening towards the end of September.   The restrictions and allowable numbers are yet to be clarified.

We have arranged a number of extra operating sessions through October to the end of the year to help cater for the backlog of people needing procedures done.  We will be reviewing our waiting list and allocating cases to operating lists as soon as the parameters are clearly defined.

Feel free to contact us to clarify your situation.  The phones are quite busy as you may expect at this time so if it is possible to email your query this helps us manage the workflow at this busy time.

Please call 03 9958 3000 or email info@melbournecbs.com.au to discuss this option.
